STRANGER THINGS fans, Christmas and Halloween will come early this year – on October 27 to be exact – as season two of the sci-fi show hits screens in the autumn, Netflix has revealed.

As well as unveiling the poster for the supernatural sequel – showing the children (minus Eleven, of course) beneath the menacing monster featured in the already released trailer for the second season – the streaming service has given a hint at the plot in the official synopsis: “A year after Will’s return, everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.” That means the action will be set in 1984, and it’s rumoured that it will venture a bit beyond the fictional Indiana town. Netflix has also released a new, short and suitably eerie teaser on Instagram.

The cryptic forthcoming episode titles include Madmax, The Boy Who Came Back To Life, The Pumpkin Patch, The Palace, The Storm, The Pollywog, The Secret Cabin, The Brain, and The Lost Brother.

In terms of the line-up, all of the core cast are returning and several new cast members have been confirmed. Australian actor Dacre Montgomery will take the role of Billy, older brother to tough new girl Max – played by 15-year-old Sadie Sink who is being tipped to be the Millie Bobby Brown of season two.
